Steve Di Giorgio back in Testament
From the band's website:
Legendary Bay Area thrashers TESTAMENT have released the following statement: It is with much respect that we announce our mutual parting with bassist Greg Christian. Metal fretless bass pioneer Steve Di Giorgio will be returning to TESTAMENT. Steve previously was a member of TESTAMENT on The Gathering (1999) as well as First Strike Still Deadly (2001). He will be joining TESTAMENT on their upcoming shows in Australia on the Soundwave Festival, Japan and Mexico City. Steve will also be taking part in the new TESTAMENT album. We are looking forward to continuing the momentum you, the fans, have made possible.
These guys now have one of the best line-ups imaginable.

This will be interesting.

I liked them both in the band and saw them with both players. Wonder why the original guy is out. Skolnick, Hoglan, DiGiorgio
that's like a Black Ops SEAL Sniper James Bond 300 Spartan team. Fully clothed.

My cousin married a dude named Steve DiGiorgio. I don't think it's the same guy.
Weed makes sports so much better! You no longer give a shit when your team sucks.

Now they just need to get a new producer and this could get very very interesting.

I like the production but Peterson's rhythm sound typically has too much gain and is a bit swishy.

DiGiorgio is a top notch bass player for sure. I have had a couple cd's with him on it including Eric Peterson's side band Dragonlord and Iced Earth's 'Horror Show'. If I am not mistaken he did a stint with Death and a couple other bands. I always wondered why this guy could not stick with a band. I remember in interviews Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth seemed pissed at him for quitting right after the release of Horror Show
..indicated that DiGiorgio used them as a stepping stone.

I really like the production on DROE... Sneap can be hit or miss (for instance I think he didn't fare too well with Saxon last year) but these days he's much more often "hit" than "miss", and he didn't fuck up Testament IMO. I agree with Venomboy about Peterson's rhythm tone, though. Still, it's a minor issue. DROE is probably one of my top 10 albums of the last decade, and I can't wait to hear the new one.

I can't listen to that album much at all. Gets too melodic for my liking too and that I feel is Sneap's influence as well.
