Any Interest in Bass Guitar

I was wondering if there would be any interest in a bass section on this forum?




I know....It's called Dinosaur Rock Guitar, not Dinosaur Bass Guitar!




Some people on here probably play bass (I played bass in a band and still play bass on the side occasionally) in addition to guitar, or at least dabble with it some.




It's just that the two seem to go together.

I started out as a bassist, and was probably a lot better bassist than I've ever been as a guitarist.

I'd love a section for bassists as well as songwriters. But, I have no idea how complicated it is to make up these sections. A Songwriter's section might find lyricists who need music writers and vice versa. At the same time, it's a pretty nice place just the way it is.

I have that thought once too.....


But it was much "bigger" like a DR Bass, DR Vocals, DR Drums and DR Keyboard and I don´t how to make it works and never suggest it cause it shouldn´t work...

I don't see why the bass would need a separate forum.


AFAIC all subjects relating to bass can fit perfectly in the Guitar Forum.


After all, it is a bass GUITAR, right?

I was just wondering if anyone would want a seperate section. I wouldn't want anyone to post bass stuff in the regular forums if it wasn't cool with everyone else.

It's not that it's difficult to create a new section, but I think at some point, all the subcategorizing actually makes it harder to find the threads you go looking for. We've never avoided bass here, but when it has come up, it has generally been a matter of something like how do you get a good bass sound on your recordings, and in those cases, those posts fell naturally in the Recording forum. If I were to see a big need for a separate section, I'd create one, but there hasn't been enough bass-specific discussion to warrant the clutter of yet another forum. Got a bass technique question? Post it in Techniques. Bass amp? Amplifiers, etc.
