Rick Derringer

I'm getting better! No, you're not -- you'll be stone dead in a moment.

Rick Derringer

Post: # 253384Post Tatosh Guitar

Not much online yet, but apparently Rick Derringer passed away yesterday.

Not sure if there might be many fans of him here. I think he was mostly famous for playing with both Johnny and Edgar Winter. He was a big name in guitar playing for a bit back in the day, I suppose.

RIP Rick.

As of this AM, I wasn't sure it wasn't a hoax? When I looked, Google hadn't registered it yet.

I saw him once in the 80s. He was a better player, than most people probably knew. RIP

Yeah, it is a bit weird. I saw a post yesterday, then nothing. I saw another one earlier today and went to wikipedia, where I suppose anyone could add it. Hopefully it is a hoax.

I'm playing wait and see. I saw the story on FB, and then another one that said Rick himself debunked it. I hope he is still alive and well.

I saw him perform at several Dallas guitar shows over the years. He could still bring it on vocals and guitar. At one show, I gave him a handful of V-Picks to try.

Rick was a local guy. I used to see him fairly often.. Good guy. The last time we saw him it wasn't good so this isn't shocking. Rick was a good guy from my experiences. The wife , uh,,,

RIP Rick

Yeah the news is kind of weird, most sites say "reportedly" ....hmmmm.....

Anyways, he was actually quite a badass, saw him live & met him in the early 90s & he was super friendly & cool but the dude smoked on the guitar....a lot more Dino than he probably gets recognized for.

RIP Rick Derringer!
