Is it a Chubtone or a Les Paul?
When I built the Chubtone Spitfire, I put the same Doug Aldrich pups in it that I have on my newer Les Paul in an attempt to get a similar sound. But because I was having some issues with my recording rig, I never got to A-B them to see how similar or different they sound. Until now.
Been doing some guitar amp/chain testing and I thought you guys might appreciate this.
One of these guitars is my Chubtone Spitfire with a Floyd. The other is my newer Les Paul. BOTH are running on the DA bridge pup. Both are running through the Hoffmann Marshall with the distortion (i.e. gain) on bare minimum for that amp (which is still a fair amount). Both guitars are running (via the CaptorX Torpedo) through the exact same British 4x12 cab sim, with a 57 close mic on the speaker, All the amp and recording settings -- including fader levels -- are EXACTLY the same on both guitars. There is ZERO processing on the tracks. No compression, reverb, or anything. Just dry.
Can you tell which is which?

Could very well be wrong, since all guitars have their own personality
But I call Chubby as Guitar 1
Guitar 2 seems to have slightly more liveness to the tone

Hello guys, long time no post. Work is murder.
I would be willing to bet good money the Chubbie is Guitar 1, and the Lester is Guitar 2. Just like Dean said.

Really hard to tell with just the rhythm track. If there had been a lead solo, I bet it would be more obvious.
The Guitar 2 track has more snap, more character and complexity. I think Guitar 1 is the Chub and 2 is the LP. Both sound great though.

I certainly expected that as well. And it is a tiny bit easier, but nowhere near as obvious as I anticipated.
Some lead clips will actually be part two of this challenge once enough people make a guess on this.

I think I've heard some twangy thing on guitar2, so I think it can be the fender scaled Chubby.
But I can be wrong, because both sounds almost the exact tone.

OK here are the lead guitar samples. See if this helps.
