Laney LA STUDIO 3W Tube Guitar Amp Head Black
Didn't think I'd be getting any gear for xmas. I think was wrong. Didn't know they were making this, but it's kind if what I've been looking for for years. Basically an old-school Supergroup at 3 watts, specifically for recording.
Not cheap, but it's got a Torpedo built in.

I can feel the G.A.S. building to insane levels here.
That looks awesome.
If you do in fact get it please do a full review, will you?

I ordered it. It's on back order. Have no idea when it'll arrive. But, yeah, I'll review it. More importantly, I'll record with it! Even though there's probably not a lot of Last Chance that needs this specific sound. But I've ALWAYS wanted to be able to pull up a Tony sound.
I have one song at least (for the next album) that I want a Sabbath sound on one side (and a Hoffmann sound on the other).

Whoah, that's neat. A lot of good stuff in a small package.

Dave, I'm just thinking but... it could be that I send you two clean track to reamp with the Laney and the Wolf? It could be AWESOME having an Accept type of song played through the ACTUAL Wolf Hoffmann amp.

I ordered this amp on Dec 2, 2022.
It finally came TODAY.
Got a used Iommi Treble Booster on the way to give it the kick up the ass it needs to take it into Sabbath territory. I'll also download the Laney Cab IR with the Goodman speakers. That's the setup Glenn shows in the video above.
The amp ain't gonna be on the new Last Chance album.
Maybe it'll help inspire me to do whatever I do next.

And, I can report that even without the Treble booster yet, it does a very convincing early Laney Supergroup through the Goodman-speaker loaded LA412 cab I got separately for $8.00. Closest I've ever gotten to the tone of the first four Sabbath albums. It should do the later/Dio stuff too, but probably with different (G12H Celestion-loaded) cabs. I haven't tried them all yet.
I'll post some clips once the Treble booster arrives.

I love Laneys, the GH model is an absolute firebreather.
They must have had some sort of association with Ibanez back in the day because most of the Ibanez shredders like Paul Gilbert, Andy Timmons and Vinnie Moore were using Laneys.

I think they were handing out endorsement deals in those days.

I might be completely wrong here, but I think Iommi used Marshalls for the Dio albums. I seem to remember reading that somewhere, but as with anything else, whoever wrote that might have been speaking out of his ass.Dinosaur wrote: It should do the later/Dio stuff too, but probably with different (G12H Celestion-loaded) cabs. That said, it sounds different to my ears, to the traditional Iommi tone. or maybe it was Birch's stellar production.
May I ask which treble booster did you get?
