Every Guitar Effect Pedal Ever Made.
Every Guitar Effect Pedal Ever Made.
Has anyone here ever found an attempted list, (impossible but I want to try), of every guitar effect pedal ever made? I've been searching and can't find anything that comes close. Hell .... I've owned more pedals than many of these "lists" include. I'd love to come up with a definitive list of all pedal board effects ever made. I'm not interested in rack mount, desktop or recording studio magically created effects. Only those guitar effects created for and used on the floor in front of guitarists on stage or in the studio. All stomp boxes or mechanical units that sat on the floor. Early floor effects that weren't necessarily foot controlled would be included as long as they are "floor" effects. Many early echo effects would fall in this category.
If no one has had any more luck than I have I'd like to ask a favor. I need something to do "guitar research related" while I'm in the Covid-19 Prison System. Who knows when I'll make parole? I'd like my fellow members to submit lists of every guitar effect they've ever owned or heard off. In a perfect world this would include the brand name, model name and effect type. We're currently just about as far away from a perfect world as we could possibly be so I'd just ask you to do your best and maybe other members could chime in with anything missing.
As an example and just to get things started I'll list a few. ( Note* Please don't relist pedals already named in the thread unless you're bringing in a special version 2, 3, 4 or whatever). I figure there's probably thousands without repeats.
Thank You,
Rick
DeArmond Trem Trol 800 Tremolo, (released in 1948 and possibly the first guitar effect floor pedal). (tremolo)
Gibson Maestro FZ-1 Fuzztone. (fuzz)
Dallas Rangemaster. (treble booster)
Analogman Sunface. (fuzz)
Analogman Bi-Chorus. (chorus)
Analogman Mini-Chorus. (chorus)
A/DA Flanger. (flanger)
Boss TU-2 Tuner (tuner)
Boss MT-2 Metal Zone (distortion)
Boss DM-1 Delay Machine (analog delay)
Boss DM-2 (analog delay)
Boss DD-2 (digital delay)
Boss DM-3 (analog delay)
Boss DD-3 (digital delay)
Maxon OD-808 (overdrive)
Ibanez TS-808 (overdrive)
Maxon OD-9 (overdrive)
Ibanez TS-9 (overdrive)
You get the idea. I'll try to update lists by 1). Effect Type ... 2). Brand ... 3). Model. This way members can look at the lists by type and add anything they don't see already listed.
You get the idea. As long as this list could be ..... and if you're as locked down and bored as me ..... just start spewing them out. I'll figure out how to tally and relist them in some order.
Again ....
Thank You
Rick

Every Guitar Effect Pedal Ever Made.
I think a list of just the pedals Rick has owned would be a lonnnng list. I have a book that came out a few years back that talks about the first examples of every type -- the first fuzzes, the first wahs, phasers etc. But now with all of these companies -- that have come and gone, and all the boutiques, even if you could make a list, it would be out of date by the time you finish it.
But if you're serious, you might want to look at places that sell pedals, both new and used, like Reverb and eBay. Then move on to Musican's Friend, Sweetwater, etc. That would cover a fair amount of ground.
Just from what I have kicking around (that Rick didn't list):
BOSS DC-2 Dimension C
BOSS DC-2 Dimension C Waza
BOSS AC-2 Acoustic Guitar Simulator
BOSS DS-1 Distortion
BOSS DD-6 Digital Delay
BOSS CE-5 Chorus
T-Rex Octavius Octave pedal
MXR Phase 90
MXR Phase 90 script reissue
Ibanez Flanger
Majik Box Doug Aldrich Rocket Fuel
Strymon blueSky Reverberator
Fulltone Clyde Standard Wah
Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah
Dunlop Mini Wah
Dunlop Mini Volume
Ernie Ball Volume
Earthquaker Devices Hoof Fuzz
Mad Professor Golden Chello
Digitech Brian May Red Special Pedal
TC Electronics Polytune Mini 2 Noir

It's not a restring until I'm bleeding.

I know it's impossible. It's just something to do. The number of Boss pedals alone is probably well over a hundred. Throw in Dunlop, MXR, Digitech, etc. well.
Oddly ...... lately ....... I find I have a lot of time on my hands.

Well, I own:
Budda Budwah
Korg Pitchblack
Xotic BB Preamp
Strymon Brigadier
MXR BLS Chorus
MXR Dynacomp Deluxe
DLS EchoTap
And I've had a Boss Turbo Overdrive (great sound), a DOD American Metal, a Columbus Chorus (loved that pedal), a DOD Compressor Sustainer, a Boss GT-3, and a Boss BE-5.

Catalinbread, Wampler, and JHS alone would nearly fill a broadsheet newspaper with just shit they've discontinued.

Oddly, I've not had all that many stomp boxes.
The first that I ever owned was a Roland Jet Phaser. ( I've just googled to see how much they're changing hands for nowadays.... )
Actually now I think about it, I've also had an original MXR Phase 90 and a Big Muff Pi. And a TS808... :s
The only other noteworthy one was an Ibanez LA Metal. Looked dead cool, but not a single usable sound to be found in it!

If I began to quantify the pedals I've owned over the years, I would have a nervous breakdown.
