"The Thin Veneer "
We will face the fire
Though we never saw it coming
Stand through the trial
Though it all amounts to nothing
If we fail
Dressed for the feast
Under the hammer of the auctioneer
The hunger of the savage beast
That lurks beneath the thin veneer
Breaks free
Weve seen this show before
Like a re-run playing over and over again
Smoke in the east
Betrays the glowing embers in the west
We feed the fire with the flame
Of passion for the things we must possess
Weve been down this road before
Fooling ourselves over and over again
The blinking lights and fleeting sounds
Of a life in the machine
Weve progressed by leaps and bounds
But we lost our way
And got stuck in between
We wear it like a cheap disguise
This thin veneer
And we appear so civilized
But all the while we mask the fear
That we may have to go without
So we close our eyes
And justify our deeds
We will face the fire
Though it all amounts to nothing
The hunger of the savage beast
That lurks beneath the thin veneer breaks free
We wear it like a cheap disguise
This thin veneer
And we appear so civilized
But all the while we mask the fear
That we may have to go without
So we close our eyes
And justify our deeds
We wear it like a cheap disguise this thin veneer
And we appear so civilized, but all the while

I love the main riff to this song. Super heavy!

Listening now. As usual the main riff is very memorable and heavy. Love the guitar solos....nice interaction between the two guitars. Very well crafted heavy metal song. Great work from you and your band Mike.

Thanks Mark, glad ya liked it. B)
We've got3 more to finish and the cd will supposedly finished. I keep pushing the idea of 'let's not think in terms of a cd" because no one wants cds anymore. They just cherry pick the mp3s they want to steal,, eerrrr, buy so we will probably just continue to release them as we finish them. We'll probably pick 8 or so and put them on a cd at some point but the number of cds made will be very small compared to the past.
I do like that bandcamp deals in Wavs as opposed to MP3s. I don't like that they take just short of 25%
