Re: Ann Wilson Diagnosed With Cancer
This is great news, I hope she won't need to go through this again, and I hope we see a similar message from Doug Aldrich soon.

I forgot to update this thread last week...
I saw the Heart concert in Knoxville on March 28th, and it was awesome! Cheap Trick opened and played a solid hour of hit songs. Everyone in the band still sounds incredible, but you can tell that Rick Nielsen's age is catching up with his posture. He was bent over his guitars the entire time, but his playing wasn't hindered by it at all.
Ann Wilson was in amazing voice and delivered the goods for the entire Heart show - in a wheelchair, no less! Nothing to do with the cancer, she had a fall a couple weeks ago and broke her elbow in three places. She has been unable to stand and keep her balance while singing, so she sang sitting. Hey, Robert Plant recorded the entire Presence album from a wheelchair, no complaints there! And speaking of Led Zeppelin, Heart paid homage to Zep with a front of stage acoustic set that featured "Going to California," and later played "The Ocean" for their first encore. Naturally, Heart played all their own classics, with Nancy Wilson leading a band of virtuoso musicians.

Re: Ann Wilson Diagnosed With Cancer
That's great news. I think I read that her cancer has been treated and is under control. Checking Google AI says:
Ann Wilson, lead singer of Heart, underwent surgery and preventive chemotherapy for a cancerous growth, but she is now cancer-free and back on tour.

Go big, or go home!

Sounds like a great night of music! Glad Ann is doing well other than the broken elbow.cvansickle wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 1:08 pm I forgot to update this thread last week...
