Girl Can't Help It
This is my new favorite Neal Schon track. Not flashy, but his rhythm parts in this are SO funky and in the pocket. Plus, his solo is like 5 notes, and they all HIT. That's the whole game, to me now. If you can say that much with so little, why bother with extra? Even in the live video of this, where he rips a little, he's just so melodic and purposeful. When I played a lot of rock guitar, I could always channel Neal pretty well. There's a righteous FUNK to him that is only matched by EVH. It's now very stylish in the US to clown Journey, because we've had that band shoved down our throats for so long, here, but that's too bad, because some of this stuff is totally epic. Feeling That Way is another overlooked Neal track. The way he leads the changes in his solo there, builds so much tension, and does it effortlessly. Fantastic shit

I love that whole album, Raised on Radio. I've read that things were not good within the band and Perry at the time and they even used a different rhythm section, but the album is killer.

My favorite Schon solo is the outro solo to Be Good To Yourself from that same album.
