Meniketti's Y&T Marshall for sale

Post: # 251131Post Dinosaur David B

I know he doesn't use it anymore, but I kind of hate seeing stuff like this up for sale. BTW, I believe this was the amp he had Cameron fix when we all hung out at NAMM 08 in the Cameron booth, playing Cameron's amp.

Wow. I am with you on this. I hate he is parting with it. I get he might not use it much these days, but still, EVH never got rid of his 68 even if he hadn’t used it in decades.

Not only is it a 70’s Superlead, but it has actual rockstar pedigree. I know it is a starting bid, but still, $4,500 seems low for this.

I imagine Eddie was a lot more comfortable financially. Meniketti's medical bills the last years must have been pretty crazy, glad he's doing good though.
I guess there's and age when you feel it's time to cash in. Mark Knopfler just auctioned a few guitars for something like 12 million and many artists are selling their catalogs.

I remember a few years back when KK sold his song rights & everyone was like "oh he's in the poor house now...." or some shit, well he seems to be doing just fine. Around that time he auctioned off a lot of his vintage Priest gear, so everyone figured he was done & washed up. At least in Internetland. Granted I guess he had some financial disaster occur w/his golf course thing not panning out, but I think selling his share of the JP catalog probably put him in a pretty safe spot.

As far as Meniketti is concerned, he's been playing Diezels since Y&T got their groove back. So he doesn't necessarily need the Marshall anymore. If it were me, I'd keep it for recording or sentimental reasons.
