Two Notes Wall Of Sound
Ive started using my PC more and more for practicing/jamming so have been looking at different ways of getting a decent rock tone.
Ive been pretty happy with the plugins that Ive been using so far but my wife bought me an EVH MXR 5150 Overdrive for my birthday and Im really impressed with the sound of it. Initially I just plugged it into my interface and had a listen to it in Reaper. As you might expect, it sounded like a host of bees in a jam jar.
Having a quick look on the internet I came across the Two Notes Wall Of Sound IR plugin.
For about ten bucks you can buy one of a number of cabinets. The plugin itself lets you choose a power amp, cabinet, mikes and mike setup and add some reverb.
The sound of the 5150, into an EL84 power amp with a couple of mics and some reverb is pretty damn good if I say so myself. I then added some chorus from a free Nercuriall plugin and hey presto - instant 80s rock!

I have a Two Notes Torpedo Live in my rack.. I like it a lot. I've used it with everything , all my amps and my AxeFx as well as my Helix rack.

I own one too. Wonderful piece of gear IMO.

The Wall of Sound plugin is nice, as you can audition any of the Two Notes IRs without actually buying them. Then if you like them, you can pay.
Using software like that is how I get my recorded sounds. I have Wall of Sound and a number of their IRs, plus loads of other libraries of IRs and impulse plugins.
If you have a sound interface that will give you a low round trip latency (under 6ms) you can play and monitor your signal real time. And what you hear is what you get. Once you've done it that way, it seems insane to do it any other way. Both in terms of ease of use, flexibility and quality of sound.
