Re: I'm The One
Great job. Probably your best yet.
The overall tone seems a bit more compressed than the original VH1 one, but I get it might be the recording. For such an (in)famously elusive sound, you are damn close.
What are you using in the chain? Pickup? amp? etc.

Re: Brian Wilson
Oh no, I did not see this one coming at all.
A true musical genius. The 20th century musical movement wouldn't be the same without him.
RIP Brian.

Re: Rick Derringer
Yeah, it is a bit weird. I saw a post yesterday, then nothing. I saw another one earlier today and went to wikipedia, where I suppose anyone could add it. Hopefully it is a hoax.Dinosaur wrote: As of this AM, I wasn't sure it wasn't a hoax? When I looked, Google hadn't registered it yet.

Rick Derringer
Not much online yet, but apparently Rick Derringer passed away yesterday.
Not sure if there might be many fans of him here. I think he was mostly famous for playing with both Johnny and Edgar Winter. He was a big name in guitar playing for a bit back in the day, I suppose.
RIP Rick.

Re: Is Heaven and Hell Geezer's best bass work?
it is more adventurous and proggy than most metal bass. I think Geezer's more showing everyone what a metal bass player COULD be . Bass doesn't have to be as Ian Hill/Jimmy Bain basic as most metal bass is. It is more adventurous and proggy. That is why I like it so much. The stuff he doe...

Re: I need this T Shirt
I am considering getting one done as well. A coworker does this sort of work on the side, and he gives me a great price. If I can get this image in print worthy quality I think am going for it.

Re: Is Heaven and Hell Geezer's best bass work?
Your mileage may vary, but Heaven in Hell is arguably (IMO) the greatest metal album of all time. You are preaching to the choir here. Not arguably. It IS the greatest metal album of all time. 8-) That is a fact of life. I have said this here before: I would not change a note on that album. Not ...

Holy crap, that just SMOKES!
I have lusted for a good Les Paul for a while. I was looking at the japanese Edwards (made by ESP) stuff a few months ago but these are always in the back of my mind as well. Do a full review if possible!

Re: DLR.. Make Of It What You Will
I never had an issue with the albums. Sure, Micheal Anthony is a big reason I enjoy those vocal tracks, but the parts where Dave is on his own are good as well. My main issue is with live videos (I never saw him live back in the day.) He would change lyrics, eat up phrases, go off, all that. That s...

Re: Yngwie new live album Tokyo 2024
While Yngwie is always worth watching and listening to just for being Yngwie, I wouldn't get your hopes up for this being a great live album. The playing will be stellar, but it's anyone's guess as to what the production will be like. Probably not great since he or his management/wife don't want to...
