Re: RJD Doco coming end of September

I've loved him since I was 9 years old.   I heard Ronnie's voice for the first time in 1975 (I was 9 years old too), as did countless other french people, even though they have no clue as to who he is. The reason is the following piece of trivia. Back then, there were three channels on French TV, a...

Re: Steve Morse sits out DP tour - Replacement Simon McBride

Judging from what I've heard of Simon McBride's music (admittedly, not much), I might actually like him better than Steve Morse in the context of Deep Purple - he seems bluesier and ballsier. Don't get me wrong, Steve is obviously an amazing musician but I always found his playing style a bit "...

Re: Her Majesty The Queen

Far from Dino, but the first thing that came to my mind with this news was The Smiths' The Queen is Dead, followed by God Save the Queen by the Sex Pistols, followed by The Beatles' Her Majesty. RIP QEII.   When Gorbachev passed away two weeks ago, the first thing that came to my mind was "Win...

Re: Roger Waters - The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking

IMO, Roger's third album "Amused to Death" is even better. It's Jeff Beck instead of Clapton on that one. I usually don't care much more about Beck than about Clapton, but on that album his playing style really works (maybe because he goes into Gilmour territory too). In any case, it's wel...

Dark Watchers (Seven Moons’ yearly music dump)

Hey guys Although I haven’t been very active on the internet lately, I’m still under contractual obligation with myself  to record and post something here once a year. So, here’s a new little tune (as usual, a bare-bones collage of riffs and noodly solos). I wanted to experiment with Jens Bogr...

TC Electronic Afterglow

A few months ago, I sold two pedals I didn’t use (even managed to make a little profit in the process!), and I decided to reinvest some of the money in a chorus - something I haven't had in my arsenal in ages. I didn’t want a complicated or expensive model, as I’d only use it once in a blue moon, so...

Re: Longtime DRG member Henrik Stæhr

Last week, I found out about Henrik’s passing on fb: he hadn’t posted anything in several days, which was unusual, so I checked out his page and I saw the posts of his son and of his friends. It was quite a shock. Although I never met him in person, we were often exchanging on fb. We had in common b...

Re: Judas Priest to resume touring in march as a 4-piece.

They could just hire Mike Chlasciak and call the band "Halford" instead of "Judas Priest".  That would be more sensible and respectful to the fans.

Re: Burke Shelley - Budgie R.I.P.

Sad news. It seems he had serious ongoing health issues:

I love Budgie, "Never Turn Your Back On A Friend", "In For The Kill" and "Bandolier" are stone cold classics of 70s metal IMO.
