I'm no doctor (Nick?), but believe that 40 years of depression, disappointment, distrust, and disgust could have easily been a contributing factor to his cancer. Certainly wouldn't have helped - plus depression tends to lead to unhealthy lifestyle choices. I'd heard that Still of the Night was ...

I've ordered a Behringer Air XR18. Compact, 18 channels, and I know someone with the smaller version who loves it.
And managed to borrow enough active speakers to get the job done.

Oh I will!
Got some kit: couple of large front of house speakers, enough mics for a drum kit, guitar and 2 vocals, plus cables and mic stands.
It's foldback and a mixer where I'm short.
I'll find a way.

I read that his wife was considerably younger, and he was still walking about, so she ran the show.
And so when she suddenly became ill and died from a rare lung infection there was no backup.
And the dog was in a crate, poor thing.

If I've got the condition correctly, it's not something you can cure, just suppress for an indeterminate period of time. Eventually it'll become uncontrolled, sadly, or else the treatment itself will become the problem (trashes your immune system).
