  He should just contact Frontiers....I am sure they would release it. There are plenty of labels out there that would. Sykes’ name still carries some weight.

  It would have been nice, but with each passing year, it's no big loss for anyone.

  At this point I don't think we can blame any label. I am sure there's plenty that would release it. But this guy is just a slacker. I stopped caring over a decade ago...

  Sykes is the most disappointing of all Dino artists for me.  Instead of A-bowing out gracefully and disappearing into the ether or B-touring and playing his classic material, instead he does the occasional guesting on someone else's album to show he can still get it done, then dangles the "new record" on an annual basis for years now with no release date in sight... pathetic.

  I guess he's still able to live off 1987.

  I mostly stick from Blue Murder and work my way backwards anyway... His work in Lizzy and Tygers is awesome too.

  Sykes is reaching -- or has reached a point where even his biggest fans don't or won't give a shit anymore. It's classic boy who cried wolf syndrome at this point.  It's good for him that he doesn't have to work anymore, but I think we'd all respect it more if he just said "I'm retired," instead of jerking everyone around for a third decade.  
  
  Hell, Jimmy Page is retired, and he doesn't admit it either, but he at least remasters the back catalog every few years, and is putting out books, working on a LZ doco, and producing his girlfriend's spoken-word poetry album.

  I love Thunder and Lightning and his contributions to 1987. For me there were great high points here and there after, I just don't listen to them as much as the first two.

  Presumably John's issue with 'the business' aspects are not being able to make much money out of of the proposed activities? Some of the comments are interesting,  he's one guy no one knows much about.  Wife influence....no idea? Clearly he doesn't need to work much.
