Astral Guerilla

in Recording
I takes me months to record something, but sharing my dabblings in music on DRG is what keeps me motivated...
This one was supposed to be a space rock thing, that's not really how it turned out, but it's a nod to Hawkwind nonetheless, with the upfront bass (as much as my newbie bass skills allow it) and with a Dave Brock-esque riff. I'm pretty happy with the lead guitar tone, as it was a test drive for the Seymour Duncan Black Winter pickup that I've installed in my Jackson DK 2 a couple months ago.

You really wear the NWOBHM influence on your sleeve.
I loved the key change in the B section and the lead work was positively incendiary! Great chops, good precision with just the right amount of reckless abandon, and I think I spotted a couple phrygian dominant and diminished ideas.
If you want to take this another step forward you could record with a drummer and a singer (or maybe develop a melodic theme for guitar) and maybe include a breakdown section.
Good job!
