"Can you move a dresser for me?"
"I need you to take out the trash to the community dump."
"Let's move my bed and dresser to the new apartment."
"I need you to pick up the lawnmower from the service department."
"Can you take my Marshall stack from my house to my gig?"

Sure, I guess.

Maybe I should charge them, at least for gas.

Is it a single coil or Humbucking pickup truck?
In the midst of the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

Every man, if possible, should own some kind of a truck.

Back when I lived on a big property, and did a lot of weekend yard work, I always wanted a truck for dump and Home Depot runs. Then on Sunday night, have it fold up into a box in the garage like George Jetson's briefcase!

There's a guy who has a Dodge Ram in my village (does this count as a truck?)  This humongous thing looks gorgeous, but around these parts you have to be a rich man for such extravaganza...

When I first moved to Fargo for college, I was driving a 1974 F250. I got requests to move peoples stuff all the time. One of the stranger requests came when I was replacing a u-joint. I was laying under the pickup, driveshaft beside me, and this pair of shoes walks up.

"Hey, this is a nice pickup you have here"
"Thanks. It'll be nicer when I'm not laying under it."
    "Can I borrow it?"

At that point, I rolled out from underneath to see whose feet these shoes were attached to. Complete and total stranger.

"I can't lend it to you"
    "Why not?"
"Driveshaft's laying right there (pointed at the driveshaft) and I have no idea who you are."
"Oh. My name is *Forgot his name* Can you help me move some stuff?"

I had never previously encountered somebody so willing to ask a total stranger so many favors. Finally, we settled on a price, I helped him move a chair, some magazines, and a lamp. Aside from the $20 or so he paid, he wound up lending me his Akai 4-track cassette recorder, which got me started recording. So it ultimately worked out, but it was really odd.

I should state, I got this thing back last October, I guess, some sort of mid-life crisis thing came up, when I was going through my hard times, but I still had some cash from my severence hanging around, and saw it for $1750.  1988, Ford F-150, 71K miles, 4.9 inline 6.  Mental calculations told me it had about 1500 miles a year on it.  The owner bought it new in 1988, had full service history, original manual, even had the original receipt and window sticker.   offered $1500 and it was mine.  State charged me tax on it as if it was worth $2500, so another $350.  And, was on its original tires, which I had to replace, so I'm in it for about $3500.  I've been offered $5000 for it but to hell with that.  I sold my little Zx2 Escort for $350 and was happy to be rid of that money pit.  But I never knew owning a truck would mean I'd be subject to so many favors asked.  Good thing it's an extended cab with a back seat so there is room for Brooke's puppy, Sadie.  Yeah, I know the dog is supposed to be riding in the bed, but Sadie is precious.

Oh, the interior is exquisite, and all vinyl.  I can hose it out if I want to clean it.  :)

Yep, that's a Browns sticker in the window.  Brown truck, Browns fan.
