Grace Potter and the Nocturnals - Is anyone else digging this band right now? I just got their latest cd (pictured below). It's an eclectic mix of rock, pop, R&B, blues... and I think it sounds fresh. Songs are mostly uptempo, nothing is too dark and heavy, and there are some unusual guitar sounds too.

    cvansickle,
To be honest I've never heard of them, but, if i find the disc in a local CD store I'll pick up a copy. Are there any particular songs that really took hold of you?

I like all of them, naturally! But "Paris," "Medicine" and "Tiny Light" seem to stand out for me.

Here's a vid for "Tiny Light" but you have to wade through a short dumb TV show promo first. (The promo showed the first time I watched it, but not the second time.)

Well ..... no promo clip .... straight to the music.

That was one cool twist and turn in style. The first part sounds and looks like a Taylor Swift video. Then, I noticed every time she sings the refrain "I see a tiny light ........" her voice sounds very similar to Dolly Partons. Next up, a transition way back to the late '60s / early '70s with a huge scream, a cool messy rhythm lead on SG, and the lady becomes part Gracie Slick and part Stevie Nicks.

It goes from a pretty ass to kick ass.
